Stewards spoke to Mr L Johnson, trainer of the greyhound Arrival in regards to the extended period of time between the greyhound's races. Arrival last raced on the 16th October, 2014. Mr Johnson stated that Arrival was returning to race after having toe surgery. Stewards noted Mr Johnson's explanation.
Ima Wildfire was quick to begin. Deadly Mabilis, Tear Away Lucy, Crymelon Jato and Shayley's Comet collided soon after the start, checking Deadly Mabilis, Tear Away Lucy and Shayley's Comet. Ima Wildfire checked off Suspicious Sam approaching the first turn. Allen Yeller, Crymelon Jato and Arrival collided on the first turn, checking Crymelon Jato and Ima Wildfire. Shayley's Comet clipped the heels of Crymelon Jato approaching the home turn, checking Crymelon Jato, Shayley's Comet and Ima Wildfire. Deadly Mabilis raced wide on the home turn and again in the home straight.
