She's Punching galloped on the heels of Sally's Treasure, severely checking She's Punching which collided with Nirvana Armo. Barani and Jaydee Lomar collided on the home turn. Fancy Hope and She's Punching collided entering the home straight.

A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Fish Armo, a post race sample was subsequently taken.

Fish Armo and Forever Rose were slow to begin. Barn's Delight and Swift Joker were very slow to begin (3L). Barn's Delight and Swift Joker collided soon after the start checking Barn's Delight. Swift Joker galloped on the heels of Fish Armo approaching the first turn. Fish Armo and Barn's Delight collided on the first turn checking Fish Armo and Swift Joler. Barn's Delight and Moore Lomar collided approaching the home turn checking Moore Lomar which collided Forever Rose. Barn's Delight raced wide on the home turn. Barn's Delight and Virgil collided in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Clark, the trainer of the greyhound Barn's Delight regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Barn's Delight was vetted  following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left fore toe, no stand stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Barn's Delight with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Clark pleaded guilty to the charge, Barn's Delight was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a),  before any future nomination will be accepted.

A pre race sample was taken from Steel Fury.

Rick Grimes and Sooty Epsom collided soon after the start. Vanderville Girl and Beltom collided soon after the start checking Vanderville Girl. Kraken manager and Beltom collided approaching the first turn checking Beltom. Vanderville Girl and Beltom collided on the first turn checking Vanderville Girl. Sooty Epsom and Rick Grimes collided on the first turn checking Rick Grimes and severely checking Beltom. Bruzzy Boucheau and Vanderville Girl collided approaching the home turn. Beltom raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight. Kraken Manager raced wide in the home straight.

A sample was taken from Beltom, unplaced in the event.

Beltom was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration to the left hind webbing. A stand down period of 10 days was imposed.

This race was hand started due to an ongoing issue with the boxes.

A pre race sample was taken from Uno Whirl.

Gassed Up Devil was slow to begin. Umiko Bale and Gassed Up Devil collided soon after the start. Uno Whirl and Wolfpack collided soon after the start. Uno Whirl and Happy Tails collided on the first turn. Kraken Nitro checked off Lord Kitchener on the first turn severely checking Kraken Nitro and Happy Tails. Gassed Up Devil, Uno Whirl and Happy Tails collided on the second turn checking Uno Whirl and Happy Tails.

Supervisor and Bullboar collided soon after the start checking Bullboar. Mazing Moo, Steady Walker and Supervisor collided approaching the first turn. checking Mazing Moo. Mazing Moo, Stella's Grace, Chain Of Fire and Set Point collided approaching the first turn checking Stella's Grace. Set Point, Honouring Percy, Chain Of Fire, Steady Walker and Bullboar collided on the first turn checking Mazing Moo and Stella's Grace. Set Point checked off Chain Of Fire on the first turn which collided with Mazing Moo and Honouring Percy checking Honouring Percy and Mazing Moo. Set Point and Bullboar collided approaching the home turn and on the home turn.

Mazing Moo was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the right hind toe. No stand down period was imposed.

Made First was a late scratching at 5.34pm  by Order of Stewards. A 10 day stand down penalty was applied. Stewards spoke to Mr D. Fisher, trainer of the greyhound Made First and issued a charge pursuant to GAR 86(o), in that he failed to scratch the greyhound by the appointed time which in the opinion of Stewards was negligent. Mr Fisher pleaded guilty to the charge. Stewards found Mr Fisher guilty and issued him with a fine of $200.

A pre race sample was taken from Kasreyn.

All Inn Menphis, Crazy Hawke, Sunlit Cobber and Tat Duke collided soon after the start checking Sunlit Cobber. Bigshow Jethro, All Inn Menphis, Crazy Hawke, Tat Duke and Kasreyn collided approaching the first turn checking All Inn Menphis and Crazy Hawke. Bigshow Jethro and Tat Duke collided on the first turn checking Tat Duke. All Inn Menphis, Crazy Hawke and Sunlit Cobber collided on the first turn. A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Kraken Tilda, a post race sample was subsequently taken.

Kraken Tilda was a late scratching at 9:02pm due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24). A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Ms K. Smith, handler of the greyhound Crystal Sapphire which had not raced since 8 April 2016. Ms Smith stated that the greyhound was new to the kennel.

Tills Henry and Paranorman collided approaching the home turn checking Paranorman. Bab's On Parole and Cape Cruiser collided on the home turn. Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr. L. Scott, the handler of Skyfire regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Skyfire last raced on 29 November 2015. Mr. Scott stated that the greyhound was returning from a spell. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Skyfire trialled over the 390m from box 8, weight 34.1kg, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.38, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 3.5L. Skyfire was Cleared.
