Nev Time and Daintree King were slow to begin and collided soon after the start. Smart Tornado and Daintree King collided soon after the start. Smart Tornado and Nev Time collided at the 275m mark, checking Smart Tornado, which tailed off as a result. Sticka Step and Blackjack's Back collided at the 200m mark. Nev Time and Daintree King collided at the 150m mark. Nev Time and Heartbreak Love collided approaching the winning post.
Smart Tornado was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right wrist and right triangle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
