Stewards spoke to Mr. T. Steel , the representative of Ma Ma Keogh regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Ma Ma Keogh last raced on 29th June, 2016. Mr. Steel stated that the greyhound is returning to racing after injury to the right hind leg and being on season.

Southwood Trump and Kodason collided soon after the start, severely checking Kodason. Cosmic Josie checked off Lektra Rival on the first turn and collided with Invented, checking Invented and severely checking Cosmic Josie. Lektra Lucy and Kodason collided approaching the home turn. Intensify was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the right hind leg. No stand down period was imposed.
