T Mitchell, representative of Jimmy's Joken declared a new weight of 29.4kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Jimmy's Joken last raced at 29.4kgs.

Spazzy Blue and Liverpudlian were slow to begin.  Another Spritely, Jimmy's Angel and Woodleigh Blaze collided approaching the first turn, checking Another Spritely and Jimmy's Angel and severely checking Woodleigh Blaze.  Woodleigh Blaze checked off Liverpudlian on the first turn.  ANother Spritely and Jimmy's Angel collided on the home turn, checking Jimmy's Angel and severely checking Another Spritely which raced wide as a result.

Chopper Doris and Mahaya were slow to begin.  Chopper Doris and Play Alone collided soon after the start.  Nikita's Blaze and Doogee collided approaching the first turn, checking both greyhounds.  Nikita's Blaze checked off Chopper Doris on the first turn.  Mahaya raced wide on the first turn.  Nikita's Blaze and Doogee collided on the second turn, checking both greyhounds.  Dukestar eased on the second turn.  Dukestar and Play Alone collided entering the back straight, checking Dukestar.  Chopper Doris contacted the running rail in the back straight.  Zulu Zoe and Play Alone collided in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to D Chiu, the trainer of the greyhound Dukestar regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the second turn.  Dukestar was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following race 5, it was reported that the greyhound sustained spike wounds to the left hind metatarsal.  No stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Dukestar with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  D Chiu pleaded guilty to the charge, Dukestar was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Chopper Doris was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right elbow and left deltoid, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Citrus Kiss was slow to begin.  Label This and Fawn Mantra collided approaching the first turn, checking Fawn Mantra.  Macalister Ike and Prodigal Son collided on th first turn, checking Macalister Ike, Prodigal Son and Rosie Riccarton, causing Rosie Riccarton to race wide as a result.  Citrus Kiss and Fawn Mantra raced wide on the first turn.  Citrus Kiss and Fawn Mantra collided approaching the second turn.  Guard Your Path and Label This collided on the second turn, checking Guard Your Path.  Rosie Riccarton checked off Macalister Ike entering the back straight.  Fawn Mantra raced wide in the home straight.

Macalister Ike was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left fibula, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Turfman was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left sesamoid, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Kim Kadash was a late scratching at 11.12am due to injury (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Shake The Night, Le Sands and Dozer Lad were slow to begin.  Shake The Night and Le Sands collided approaching the first turn.  Twistex and Gee Callan collided approaching the first turn.  Shake The Night and Le Sands collided on the first turn.  Gee Callan crossed to the rail on the first turn and clipped the heels of Wisen Up.  Shake The Night raced wide from approaching the home turn until the winning post.

The start of this race was rescheduled to 10.55pm after the fire alarm went off in the grandstand, causing the area to be evacuated.

Cosmic Coad was quick to begin.  Henry's Fault, Levenseat Bevan and Krav Maga were slow to begin.  Axel Boy and Creative Rhythm collided approaching the first turn, checking Axel Boy.  Henry's Fault and Creative Rhythm collided approaching the first turn, checking Creative Rhythm causing Levenseat Bevan to gallop on the heels of Creative Rhythm, which fell as a result, severely checking Levenseat Bevan.  Krav Maga raced wide on the first turn, on the home turn and in the home straight.

Creative Rhythm was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left shoulder, a torn toenail on the right foreleg, and spike wounds to both hindlegs, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

MEETING CONDITIONS:

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to P Burns, the representative of Buckle Up Maggie regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Buckle Up Maggie last raced on 25 January 2016. P Burns stated that the greyhound was returning from being on season and had changed trainers.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Buckle Up Maggie trialled over the 311m from box 1, weight 28.1kgs, the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 18.16, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 5 lengths. Buckle Up Maggie was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to P Burns, the trainer of Buckle Up Lara regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Buckle Up Lara last raced on 23 October 2015. P Burns stated that the greyhound was returning from an injured back muscle.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Buckle Up Lara trialled over the 311m from box 3, weight 27.5kgs, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 18.16, the greyhound won by a margin of 2 lengths. Buckle Up Lara was cleared.
