A pre race sample was taken from Rangiora.
Eric Jay was slow to begin. Go Close, Eric Jay, Sisco Bizzy and Beer On Tap collided soon after the start. Go Close checked off Sisco Bizzy approaching the first turn severely checking Go Close which stumbled and lost ground. Beer On Tap and Eric Jay collided on the first turn. Sisco Bizzy and Speedcar Skip collided approaching the home turn severely checking Speedcar Skip. Bowon Approach, Rangiora and Beer On Tap collided approaching the winning post.
Go Close was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left wrist, right monkey muscle, both pencil muscles and both groin muscles. A stand down perios of 21 days was imposed.
Speedcar Skip was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained and injury to the left groin muscle. A stand down period of 14 days was imposed.
