Stewards spoke to Mr. T. Mitchell, the trainer of Betta Bale regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Betta Bale last raced on 30 April 2016 and is returning after a seasonal spell.

Sonic Drive, Diamond Delight and Radical Ruger were slow to begin. Mahlo Blackhawk crossed to the outside soon after the start and collided with Teflon Tony, causing Mahlo Blackhawk to fall, checking Diamond Delight. Teflon Tony and Brienne collided on the first turn. Diamond Delight raced wide in the home straight.

Mahlo Blackhawk was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

A pre race sample was taken from Sugar Roselee.

Notorious One was quick to begin. Star Deli and Barani were slow to begin. Star Deli checked off Urana Laurie approaching the first turn. Urana Laurie and Sugar Roselee collided on the first turn, checking Sugar Roselee. Barani clipped the heels of Sugar Roselee approaching the home turn and stumbled. Star Deli checked off Sugar Roselee  approaching the home turn. Crump's Hussler checked off Lebron Slam on the home turn. Crump's Hussler and Lebron Slam collided entering the home straight. Sugar Roselee failed to pursue the lure with due commitment entering the home straight, and again in the home straight. Star Deli checked off Sugar Roselee in the home straight.

A sample was taken from Notorious One - the winner of the event. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Forbes, the trainer of the greyhound Sugar Roselee regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight and in the home straight.  Sugar Roselee was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right monkey muscle, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Sugar Roselee with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Forbes pleaded guilty to the charge, Sugar Roselee was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a),  before any future nomination will be accepted.

Rainbow Ruby was quick to begin. Nitroniun was slow to begin. Thunder Of Sky, Melrose Drive and Nitroniun collided approaching the first turn. Rainbow Ruby, Thunder Of Sky, Melrose Drive and Beautiful Ride collided on the first turn, checking Thunder Of Sky, Kept In Suspense and Beautiful Ride, and severely checking Melrose Drive. Rainbow Ruby checked off Beautiful Ride in the home straight. Beautiful Ride checked off Nitroniun approaching the winning post. 

Melrose Drive was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. 

Rosie Allen was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion above the right eye. No stand down period was imposed. 

A pre race sample was unable to be obtained from Patch Lane, a post race sample was subsequently taken.

Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Niel, the catching pen attendant responsible for closing the catching pen gate lure flap; after it was established a greyhound came in contact with the catching pen gate when entering the catching pen following the event. After hearing submissions from Mr. Niel and watching the race vision along with several other races which Mr. Niel was not in control of the lure flap for comparison, Stewards established the lure flap was closed in an appropriate time and took no further action.

A pre race sample was taken from Tiggerlong Thief.

City And Colour and Tiggerlong Thief were quick to begin. Dyna Willem and Shimmey were slow to begin. Shimmey and Benny's Legend collided approaching the first turn. Bless 'Em All and Benny's Legend collided approaching the first turn, and again on the first turn, checking both greyhounds. Bless 'Em All and Benny's Legend collided approaching the home turn, checking Bless 'Em All.

Eppy Bale was quick to begin. Kachina Allen and Allen Eamon were slow to begin. Magic Maldini was very slow to begin (4 Lengths). Shep crossed to the outside approaching the first turn and collided with Allen Eamon, Nobu and Sesame Street. Nobu checked off Sesame Street on the first turn. Allen Eamon raced wide on the home turn, checking Kachina Allen. Allen Eamon and Sesame Street collided in the home straight, checking both greyhounds. 

A pre race sample was taken from Felton Bale.

Aston Ryhder and Shared Bonus were quick to begin. Pittsy Lomar and Fearless John collided soon after the start. Ronray Spirit and Lektra Blicavs collided approaching the home turn. Lektra Blicavs raced wide entering the home straight and collided with Who's Driving. Felton Bale and Aston Ryder collided several times in the home straight and approaching the winning post, checking Aston Ryder. 

Rosie Rocks was quick to begin. Flying Focus was slow to begin. Scooby Who cheked off Rosie Rocks approaching the first turn. Scooby Who and White Bandit collided on the first turn, checking Scooby Who. Scooby Who and Invictus Reign collided on the home turn. 

A pre race sample was taken from Silvertop.

Houston Bale was slow to begin. Uinka Allen checked off Destini Scorcher approaching the first turn. Helma Bale, Gumaroy Model and Destini Scorcher collided on the first turn, checking Destini Scorcher and Houston Bale. Gumaroy Model and Uinka Allen collided approaching the second turn, checking Gumaroy Model. Destini Scorcher galloped on the heels of Gumaroy Model on the second turn, checking both greyhounds. Helma Bale and Uinka Allen collided approaching the home turn. 

A sample was taken from Fanta Bale, the winner of the event. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. C. Grenfell after it was established he had used his mobile phone following the event whilst handling the greyhound Houston Bale. Stewards charged Mr. Grenfell with a breach of GAR 44. Mr. Grenfell pleaded not guilty to the charge. Stewards found Mr. Grenfell guilty and fined him the sum of $100. In assessing penalty, Stewards noted that Mr. Grenfell had been fined the sum of $50 for the same matter in March 2016.

A pre race sample was taken from Aston Mondo.

Shiro and Poker Brat collided approaching the first turn. Shiro, Show Bag Carter and Aston Mondo collided on the first turn, checking Aston Mondo. Gator Bale galloped on the heels of Hollywood Model on the first turn, checking both greyhounds. Poker Brat contacted the running rail approaching the home turn, checking Aston Mondo. Hollywood Model and Shiro collided entering the home straight, causing Shiro to fall. 

Shiro was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the right front toe. No stand down period was imposed. 

A sample was taken from Genius Free, the winner of the event. 

Penelopes Cruzn went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin. Sub Zero Magic and I'll Rob Ya collided soon after the start. Your Shout Punk crossed to the rail approaching the first turn. Penelopes Cruzn checked off All Over on the first turn. Illiad Allen checked off All Over entering the home straight.

Suspicious Pete and Allen Varmint were quick to begin. Star's Big Boy and Allen Clown were slow to begin. Star's Big Boy checked off Pingu approaching the first turn. Allen Clown crossed to the rail on the first turn, checking Arrow Allen. Arrow Allen faltered approaching the home turn. Allen Varmint and Allen Clown collided entering the home straight. 

Arrow Allen was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right back muscle, a 60 day stand down period was imposed. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. H. McAdam, the trainer of Our Luck regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Our Luck last raced on 24 May 2016 and is returning after a left hip injury.
