Tiger Ty Bob was a late scratching at 6.10pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to split webbing on the right foreleg. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to A Patten regarding the direction that the greyhound Blue Marmion be boxed first. Acting under GAR 52(2) Stewards directed that this box first be removed.

Tang Goes Bang, Fimple Allen and Blue Not Black were slow to begin.  Vista Kwazi and Fimple Allen collided approaching the first turn.  Peter's Pride and Shanlyn Percy collided on the first turn, checking Peter's Pride.  Creative Idea checked off Peter's Pride on the first turn, checking Creative Idea.  Vista Kwazi galloped on the heels of Tang Goes Bang on the first turn, checking both greyhounds.  Our First Lady checked off Fimple Allen approaching the home turn.  Our First Lady and Peter's Pride collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn.  Vista Kwazi raced irratically in the home straight and collided with Peter's Pride.  Creative Idea raced wide in the home straight.

Vista Kwazi was vetted following the event and after being revetted following race 6, it was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to G Selkrig, the trainer of the greyhound Vista Kwazi.  Stewards deemed the performance of Vista Kwazi unsatisfactory in this event (in the home straight) and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Vista Kwazi must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Magic Super was quick to begin.  With Held was slow to begin.  Yesteryear and Always About Me collided approaching the first turn, checking Always About Me.  Velocity Sonia and Yesteryear collided on the first turn, severely checking both greyhounds and causing Velocity Sonia to fall.  Magic Super and Top Weight collided on the first turn and again in the back straight.  With Held checked off Tell Me Ma on the home turn.  Magic Super and Always About Me collided in the home straight, severely checking Magic Super.

Stewards spoke to D Connor, the trainer of the greyhound Bluebells Rocker regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post.  Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Bluebells Rocker with marring. D Connor pleaded guilty to the charge, Bluebells Rocker was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to C Kas, the trainer of Premo Potion regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Premo Potion last raced on 23 May 2016. C Kas stated that the greyhound was returning from being spelled, a change of kennels and from injury.

Enchanted Lass, Gee Callan and Ya Welcome were slow to begin.  Wisen Up, Ya Welcome and Twistex collided approaching the first turn, checking Ya Welcome and Twistex.  Lady Tron checked off Premo Potion approaching the home turn.  Enchanted Lass and Gee Callan collided approaching the home turn.  Gee Callan and Wisen Up collided approaching the home turn.  Lady Tron and Premo Potion collided approaching the home turn.

Da Mishka and Emily's Kitty were slow to begin.  Connie Bale galloped on the heels of Foot Candy approaching the first turn, checking Foot Candy.  Missy Miss, Da Mishka and Emily's Kitty collided on the first turn, checking Missy Miss and Da Mishka.  Connie Bale and Foot Candy collided on the first turn, checking Foot Candy and Emily's Kitty.  Missy Miss checked off Da Mishka approaching the home turn.  Da Mishka checked off Foot Candy approaching the home turn.  Da Mishka veered out entering the home straight and marred Foot Candy, severely checking Foot Candy and Missy Miss.

Foot Candy was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured back muscle, a 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Da Mishka was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured tail, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to T Alister, the trainer of the greyhound Da Mishka regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Da Mishka with marring. T Alister pleaded guilty to the charge, Da Mishka was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

MEETING COMMENTS:

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to T Alister, the trainer of Lisburn Gem regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Lisburn Gem last raced on 13 February 2016. T Alister stated that the greyhound was returning from injury.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Lisburn Gem trialled over the 311m from box 1, weight 29.2kgs, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 18.06, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of a half length. Lisburn Gem was cleared.
