Stewards spoke to Mr G Couldridge, handler of the greyhound Gold Trail which had not raced since 23 May 2016. Mr Couldridge stated that the greyhound was new to the kennel.

Rusty Sidebottom and Invictus Glory collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds. SwiftRuby, Kamatcka Kid, Dortmunder, Just Red and Ultra Bright collided approaching the home turn severely checking Just Red, severely checking Kamchatka Kid and Ultra Bright which stumbled and tailed off and severely checking Dortmunder which fell.

Dortmunder was vetted following the event. It was reported that the grehound sustained injuries to the right triangle and left groin and left monkey muscle. A stand down period of 7 days was imposed.

Kamchatka Kid was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left monkey muscle injury. A stand down period of 5 days was imposed.

Ultra Bright was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right triangle injury. A stand down period of 5 days was imposed.

Audacious Bell was slow to begin. Dr. Illuminate, Swift Knockout, Hey Alio Fozzio and Lil Miss Giggles collided approaching the first turn checking all four greyhounds.  Dr. Illuminate, Hey Alio Fozzio and Lil Miss Giggles collided approaching the first turn checking Lil Miss Giggles. Dr. Illuminate and Swift Knockout collided approaching the home turn and on the home turn. Audacious Bell checked off Cosmic Coaster collided in the home straight.

Lil Miss Giggles was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left monkey muscle injury. A stand down period of 21 days was imposed.

Stewards noted the muzzle of Cosmic Coaster became dislodged during the running of this event.

Pre-races sample were taken from Heartbreak Hermy, Ninth Brigade and Ouch upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.

Fiamatta, Swan's Waddle and Machiko were quick to begin. Ninth Brigade, Heartbreak Hermy and Lemon Patchwork collided soon after the start checking Heartbreak Hermy and Lemon Patchwork. Fiamatta and Swan's Waddle collided on the first turn and entering the back straight severely checking Fiamatta, Ninth Brigade and Machiko. Heartbreak Hermy and Invictus Lawless collided on the first turn checking Heartbreak Hermy. Swan's Waddle contacted the running rail approaching the home turn. Swan's Waddle checked off Heartbreak Hermy in the home straight.

Miss Briony was slow to begin. My Renson  checked off Glamorous Cheech on the first turn. Mizuki, Jack's Pick and Greysynd Chief collided on the first turn checking Jack's Pick, Greysynd Chief and My Renson. Mizuki checked off Cosmic Spur entering the back straight. Jack's Pick and Greysynd Chief collided in the back straight checking  Jack's Pick, Greysynd Chief and My Renison.  Jack's Pick, Greysynd Chief and My Renson collided on the second turn checking Jack's Pick, and Greysynd Chief. Jack's Pick and Greysynd Chief collided several times approaching the home turn and on the home turn. Jack's Pick checked off Miss Briony on the home turn.

The start time for this event was rescheduled to start at 5:40pm at the request of sky channel.

Weight Trial Result - Roll 'Em Mighty trialled over the 425m from box 3, weight 32.2kg, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 3. The time of the trial was 24.33, the greyhound won by a margin of 2.75L. Roll 'Em Mighty was Cleared.
