Stewards spoke to Mr. V.Awramenko, trainer of the greyhound Ninja Apple regarding the extended period of time between the greyhound's races. Ninja Apple last started on the 28th January 2015. Mr. Awarenko stated the greyhound was returning to race after suffering a pencil muscle injury to the left back leg.
Ninja Apple was slow to begin. Queen Elma checked off Why Not Sue soon after the start. Kenso Bale checked off Ninja Apple on the first turn. Major Larry checked off Queen Elma on the first turn. Why Not Sue and Olympic Lass collided entering the home straight checking Why Not Sue. Queen Elma raced wide in the home straight.
