Stewards spoke to the trainer of the greyhound Super Ballotelli, Mr. J. Formosa, regarding the amount of starts the greyhound has had in a short period of time. Mr. Formosa stated the greyhound has recovered fine from his previous starts and saw no issues with entering him to race again. Stewards noted Mr. Formosa's explanation and directed the greyhound be vetted upon presentation to the kennels. The on course veterinarian passed Super Ballotelli fit to race.
Super Ballotelli was slow to begin. Boloney World, Quicker Than Bev and Good Wick collided soon after the start checking Quicker Than Bev which stumbled as a result. Boloney World was held up for a clear run on the first turn. Note Book and Perpetrator collided on the first turn checking Note Book. Boloney World checked off Swift Frank approaching the home turn. Good Wick checked off Seth's Way on the home turn checking Perpetrator and Note Book. Perpetrator and Super Ballotelli collided several times in the home straight.
Quicker Than Bev was vetted following the event. It was reported that no apparent injury was found.
