Jack's Rainbow, Kiowa Jones, Pomp Fiction and Morson Senor collided soon after the start checking Kiowa Jones, Pomp Fiction and Morson Senor. Pomp Fiction and Eily West collided approaching the first turn severely checking Eily West which contacted the running rail and lost considerable ground as a result. Shazzle's Boy, Morson Senor, Shep and Stefanovic collided approaching the first turn checking Stefanovic. Shazzle's Boy, Shep and Morson Senor collided on the first turn checking Shep. Shazzle's Boy and Morson Senor collided approaching the home turn. Shep raced wide entering the home straight checking Stefanovic. Shep and Stefanovic collided approaching the winning post.
