A pre race sample was taken from Crackerjack Pete.
Deadly Pace, Advice Aplenty and Miss Vane collided soon after the start, checking Advice Aplenty. Crackerjack Pete checked off Sub Zero Magic on the first turn. Miss Vane and Deadly Pace collided approaching the home turn, severely checking Deadly Pace, Il Bacaro, Beautiful Rick, Advice Aplenty and Crackerjack Pete. Crackerjack Pete checked off Deadly Pace approaching the home turn, severely checking Crackerjack Pete and Advice Aplenty. Deadly Pace galloped on the heels of Il Bacaro approaching the home turn, checking Il Bacaro. Il Bacaro and Advice Aplenty collided entering the home straight. Deadly Pace and Beautiful Rick collided in the home straight, checking both greyhounds.
The judging equipment failed to capture an image for this event. The Judges referred to the back up photo finish system and their own observations to determine the placings. The All Clear was given on the Judges numbers 2,1,4 & 7
Crackerjack Pete was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the right eyelid, and injuries to the right monkey, right thigh and both hamstrings, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Il Bacaro was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right monkey muscle, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
