Steward's Report
Ollie Rose was slow to begin. Shazza's Gift and Bowon Approach collided soon after the start and approaching the first turn. Cosmic Lotus and Ollie Rose collided on the first turn checking Cosmic Lotus. Ollie Rose and Bowon Approach collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Barnie's Blaster and Rock Me Baby collided approaching the home turn checking Rock Me Baby and Spring Top. Ultimate Matrix galloped on the heels of Spring Top approaching the home turn checking Ollie Rose and Bowon Approach and severely checking Ultimate Matrix and Spring Top. Rock Me Baby and Shazza's Gift collided several times on the ome turn. Rock Me Baby and Shazza's Gift collided entering the home straight, in the home straight and approaching the winning post checking both greyhounds.
Cosmic lotus was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Spring Top was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a minor spike wound to the right hind foot. No stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Van taarling, the trainer of the greyhound Shazza's Gift regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Shazza's Gift was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left hind toe, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards chargedShazza's Gift with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Van taarling pleaded guilty to the charge, Shazza's Gift was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
