Wilora was slow to begin. Burrawonga Tiny and Glory Rose collided soon after the start. My Name's Sheree crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Obama Flyer. My Name's Sheree and Miss Firing collided approaching the first turn. Miss Firing eased approaching the first turn. Lotus Lily and Obama Flyer collided on the first turn checking Lotus Lily which collided with Burrawonga Tiny. Wilora checked off Burrawonga Tiny on the first turn. Miss Firing and My Name's Sheree collided on the first turn checking Miss Firing. Miss Firing and Glory Rose collided approaching the home turn checking Miss Firing. Miss Firing, Burrawonga Tiny and Lotus lily collided approaching the home turn checking Miss Firing and Lotus Lily. Miss Firing and Lotus Lily collided approaching the home turn checking Miss Firing. Glory Rose and Perfect Minnie collided approaching the winning post.
Miss Firing was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Mr. Formosa declined to have the greyhound re-vetted.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Jason Formosa, the handler of the greyhound Miss Firing regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Miss Firing with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Formosa pleaded guilty to the charge, Miss Firing was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A sample was taken from Burrawonga Tiny, unplaced in the event.
