Steward's Report
This race was delayed approximately 3 minutes due to Canberra races being late on Sky One, being changed to Sky Two and to wait for Alexandra Trots to finish.
A pre race sample was taken from Forever Merry.
Tang Goes Bang was quick to begin. Helen Baxter was slow to begin. Beltom and Forever Merry collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds. Yarrawalla Lad crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Escalate. Forever Merry, Bletchley, Yarrawalla Lad and Escalate collided on the first turn. Helen Baxter galloped on the heels of Bletchley collided approaching the home turn checking Helen Baxter and severely checking Penny Pitstop which stumbled. Bletchley and Helen Baxter collided several times entering the home straight and in the home straight. Bletchley raced wide in the home straight checking Helen Baxter.
Penny Pitstop was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration to the right for toe. A stand down period of 7 days was imposed.
