Steward's Report
Fiamatta was slow to begin. Mott Haven, Chevsta and Shades Of Sassy collided soon after the start, checking Mott Haven. Campeon and Pomp Fiction collided soon after the start. Campeon, Pomp Fiction and Gunmetal Lad collided at the 300m mark, checking all three greyhounds. Fiamatta crossed to the outside at the 250m mark. Campeon and Gunmetal Lad collided at the 200m mark. Shades Of Sassy and Shine collided several times from the 200m mark to the 150m mark. Campeon and Pomp Fiction collided at the 100m mark. Shine and Shades Of Sassy collided approaching the winning post. Shine eased approaching the winning post.
Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Moore, the trainer of the greyhound Shine regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Shine was vetted and after being re-vetted following event seven, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right pencil, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Shine with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Moore pleaded not guilty to the charge, Shine was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
