Buckle Up Axel and Sanzman collided approaching the third turn. Daintree Puzzle checked off Monty Express on the fourth turn. Daintree Puzzle and Monty Express collided approaching the home turn. Buckle Up Axel and Shout Out Loud collided on the home turn. Sanzman checked off Monty Express on the home turn. Sanzman eased entering the home straight. Monty Express tired over the concluding stages of the event.

Sanzman was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Stewards spoke to Mr D. Condon, Trainer of Sanzman. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1), Stewards charged Sanzman with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Condon pleaded guilty to the charge. Sanzman was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown Park and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial, All Tracks, pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
