Dot Com Diesel was slow to begin. Hisagi Bale, Schumacher and Miss Monteya collided soon after the start. Dot Com Diesel checked off Dr. Samson soon after the start. Etched In Black crossed to the rail approaching the first turn, checking Motangi and Spring Grace. Spring Grace, Etched In Black, Hisagi Bale and Schumacher collided on the first turn, checking Schumacher, and severely checking Dr. Samson, Motangi and Miss Monteya, causing Dot Com Diesel and Etched In Black to fall. Miss Monteya checked off Schumacher on the home turn.
