Quizmaster and Child's Dream were slow to begin. Folio Bale and Paw Favor collided soon after the start. Paw Favor and Dr. Taylor collided approaching the first turn, checking Dr. Taylor. Folio Bale crossed to the rail on the first turn, checking Someday Lady and Ebert Bale. Someday Lady and Ebert Bale collided on the first turn, checking Ebert Bale and Quizmaster; severely checking Paw Favor and Child's Dream. Paw Favor raced wide as a result. Ebert Bale and Quizmaster collided approaching the home turn, checking Quizmaster.
