Houston Bale was slow to begin. Idaho Bale, Banker Bale and Zipping Cash collided soon after the start, checking Idaho Bale, Banker Bale and Smiley Girl. Houston Bale checked off Smiley Girl soon after the start. Perrier Bale, Idaho Bale and Banker Bale collided approaching the first turn, checking Banker Bale, which raced wide as a result. Smiley Girl checked off Houston Bale on the second turn. Banker Bale and Isala Bale collided on the third turn, approaching the home turn and again on the home turn, checking both greyhounds. Houston Bale crossed to the outside entering the home straight, checking Crisis Bale.
