Pedal To Metal was slow to begin. Oh Lele Suzi was very slow to begin (3 lengths). Keeps No Secrets, Kenso Bale, Explosive Flame and Jazz Apple collided soon after the start checking Explosive Flame. Keeps No Secrets and Kenso Bale collided on the first turn checking Keeps No Secrets which eased and collided with Explosive Flame; Keeps No Secrets and Explosive Flame lost ground as a result. Pedal To Metal raced wide approaching the home turn. Keeps No Secrets and Oh Lele Suzi collided approaching the home turn.
Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Palma, trainer of the greyhound Keeps No Secrets regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn. Keeps No Secrets was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 4, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right hock. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Keeps No Secrets with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Palma pleaded guilty to the charge. Keeps No Secrets was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) befoe any future nomination will be accepted.
