Steward's Report
Mr. R. Raven, trainer of Southern Blaze redeclared a new weight of 36.6kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Southern Blaze last raced at 35.3kgs.
Tiger Of Oz and Subway were slow to begin. Ready Jet Go, Zander's Express and Cosmic Lady collided approaching the home turn checking Ready Jet Go and Cosmic Lady and severely checking Zander's Express. Sparkling Kitty and Roadie collided entering the home straight and again in the home straight. Zander's Express checked off Cosmic Lady in the home straight. Ready Jet Go raced wide in the home straight.
Sparkling Kitty was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right thigh. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Mcguire, handler of the greyhound Sparkling Kitty, regarding its racing manners in the home straight. After hearing submissions from Mr. Mcguire, acting on their own observations and reviewing both offical race replay and head on replays stewards took no futher action.
Zander's Express was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left shoulder. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
