Arolok Dora and Wahlberg collided soon after the start. Spring Topaz checked off Superliner approaching the first turn. Superliner and Wahlberg collided several times from approaching the first turn until approaching the home turn. Superliner veered out and marred Wahlberg approaching the home turn, severely checking both greyhounds. Speedy Beat and Arolok Dora collided on the home turn, checking both greyhounds. Spring Topaz and Teddy Nitro raced wide in the home straight. Speedy Beat and Spring Topaz collided approaching the winning post.

Superliner was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Wahlberg was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right pencil muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr C Hudson, the trainer of the greyhound Superliner regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Superliner with marring. Mr C Hudson pleaded guilty to the charge, Superliner was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
