Wasabi Princess was quick to begin. Oakmont Malawi was slow to begin. Magic Kara and Anoteros collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds. Ice Cognac and Fawn Kara collided on the first turn checking Fawn Kara, Magic Kara and Anoteros. Wasabi Princess eased on the first turn and raced wide checking Captain Peter and causing Oakmont Malawi to race wide. Oakmont Malawi raced wide on the home turn. Wasabi Princess eased approaching the winning post checking Dr. Gotcha.
Dr. Gotcha was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration to its right front foot. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Wasabi Princess was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its left elbow and right pencil. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mrs. R. Busuttil, the trainer of the greyhound Wasabi Princess regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn and approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Wasabi Princess with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mrs. Busuttil pleaded guilty to the charge. Wasabi Princess was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
