Steward's Report
Crackerjack Surf and Full Blown Turbo collided soon after the start. Full Blown Turbo, Canis Regis and Lady Of Ellie collided approaching the first turn checking Canis Regis. Crackerjack Surf and Gunmetal Angel collided approaching the first turn severely checking Gunmetal Angel; Gunmetal Angel contacted the running rail and stumbled as a result. Canis Regis checked off Crackerjack Surf approaching the first turn. Crackerjack Surf and Take Fright collided approaching the home turn checking Crackerjack Surf. Dan The Man eased on the home turn and again entering the home straight. Dan The Man and Full Blown Turbo collided entering the home straight.
Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Wright, the representative of the greyhound Dan The Man regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn. Dan The Man was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 12, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left thigh. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Dan The Man with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Wright pleaded guilty to the charge. Dan The Man was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
Gunmetal Angel was vetted following event 12. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left monkey muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
