Steward's Report

Stewards spoke to Mrs J.Brouwer, the trainer of Banate Express regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Banate Express last raced on 8th February 2016. Mrs Brouwer stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a right shoulder injury.

A pre-race sample was taken from Magic Mia.

Banate Express was slow to begin.  Tally Ho Jack went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin.  Thor's Crest and Cullquin Nikki collided soon after the start.  Thor's Crest and Platinum Doll collided approaching the first turn.  Cullquin Nikki and Beer On Tap collided on the first turn checking Magic Mia.  Cullquin Nikki and Beer On Tap collided approaching the home turn causing Beer On Tap to fall.  Cullquin Nikki and Magic Mia collided on the home turn.

Beer On Tap was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to its head and left hind toes.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Stephens regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound Beer On Tap.  Stewards directed that Beer On Tap be boxed first in future events.

Banate Express was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained cramp to its left hind leg.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mrs. J. Brouwer, the trainer of the greyhound Banate Express.  Acting in accordance with GAR 71 (Cramp), Stewards directed that the greyhound must perform a Satisfactory Trial before any future nomination will be accepted.
