Stewards spoke to Mrs. J. Brouwer, the trainer of Junior Jatt regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Junior Jatt last raced on 8th February 2016.  Mrs. Brouwer stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following an injury to the left hind leg.

A pre-race sample was taken from Mai Linh Febey.

Old Black Betty was quick to begin.  Katie Alouette and Junior Jatt collided soon after the start checking Junior Jatt.  Mai Linh Febey checked off Gundy's Gift approaching the first turn.  Mai Linh Febey and Junior Jatt collided on the first turn severely checking Junior Jatt; Junior Jatt contacted the running rail and tailed off as a result.  Paradise Bay and Magic Rusty collided several times approaching the home turn.

Junior Jatt was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to its left hock and an injury to its left monkey muscle.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Banate Express was slow to begin.  Tally Ho Jack went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin.  Thor's Crest and Cullquin Nikki collided soon after the start.  Thor's Crest and Platinum Doll collided approaching the first turn.  Cullquin Nikki and Beer On Tap collided on the first turn checking Magic Mia.  Cullquin Nikki and Beer On Tap collided approaching the home turn causing Beer On Tap to fall.  Cullquin Nikki and Magic Mia collided on the home turn.

Beer On Tap was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to its head and left hind toes.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Stephens regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound Beer On Tap.  Stewards directed that Beer On Tap be boxed first in future events.

Banate Express was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained cramp to its left hind leg.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Surfing Lass was very slow to begin (3 lengths).  Big Roo Drew and Spookie Assassin collided soon after the start checking Spookie Assassin.  Big Roo Drew and Light Of Liam collided on the first turn.  Sweet Lucy checked off Speedcar Skip entering the back straight and collided with Spookie Assassin.  Speedcar Skip and Spookie Assassin collided on the second turn checking Speedcar Skip and Sweet Lucy.  Speedcar Skip and Surfing Lass collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Sweet Lucy checked off Spookie Assassin on the home turn.  Speedcar Skip and Surfing Lass collided entering the home straight.

One For Liam was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained split webbing to its left hind foot.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Black Edge and La Flair were quick to begin.  Toothless Homer and Erica McKenna collided soon after the start checking Toothless Homer.  Black Edge, La Flair and Erica McKenna collided entering the back straight.  Manx Czar raced wide in the back straight.  Black Edge and La Flair collided approaching the second turn.  Three Scoops checked off Contrive in the home straight.  Manx Czar raced wide in the home straight.

Contrive was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Crackerjack Surf and Full Blown Turbo collided soon after the start.  Full Blown Turbo, Canis Regis and Lady Of Ellie collided approaching the first turn checking Canis Regis.  Crackerjack Surf and Gunmetal Angel collided approaching the first turn severely checking Gunmetal Angel; Gunmetal Angel contacted the running rail and stumbled as a result.  Canis Regis checked off Crackerjack Surf approaching the first turn.  Crackerjack Surf and Take Fright collided approaching the home turn checking Crackerjack Surf.  Dan The Man eased on the home turn and again entering the home straight.  Dan The Man and Full Blown Turbo collided entering the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Wright, the representative of the greyhound Dan The Man regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn.  Dan The Man was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 12, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left thigh.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Dan The Man with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Wright pleaded guilty to the charge.  Dan The Man was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Gunmetal Angel was vetted following event 12.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left monkey muscle.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
