A pre race sample was taken from Heaps Of Boloney.
Sutton Club and Golden Warrior were slow to begin and collided soon after the start. Cruisen Billy and Abscond collided approaching the first turn. Sutton Club checked off Slipaway Robbie approaching the first turn. Cruisen Billy, Abscond and Golden Warrior collided on the first turn. Cruisen Billy galloped on the heels of Abscond on the first turn, severely checking Cruisen Billy, checking Golden Warrior and Fluke Of Fantasy, and causing Abscond to fall. Cruisen Billy and Fluke Of Fantasy collided approaching the home turn.
Abscond was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left monkey muscle, left hip and left triangle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
