Steward's Report
A pre race sample was taken from King Farouk.
Vicarious and Mepunga Laser were slow to begin. Rapid Intention, Cosmic Tilly and King Farouk collided on the first turn, checking Rapid Intention, Cosmic Tilly, King Farouk, Mepunga Laser and Vicarious. Rapid Intention raced wide approaching the second turn, causing Vicarious to race wide. Cosmic Tilly checked off King Farouk approaching the second turn, checking Rapid Intention. Mepunga Laser and Aston Upton collided on the home turn. Vicarious veered out and marred Rapid Intention in the home straight. Rapid Intention and Vicarious collided approaching the winning post.
A sample was taken from Buddy Goode - the winner of the event.
Vicarious was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to B Bravo, the trainer of the greyhound Vicarious regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Vicarious with marring. B Bravo pleaded guilty to the charge, Vicarious was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
