Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Hollywood Jones.
Stewards spoke to Mr J.Stavropoulos, the trainer of Come On Lassy regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Come On Lassy last raced on 20th of March, 2016. Mr Stavropoulos stated that the greyhound is returning after a right hock and right fibula injury.
Come On Lassy was a late scratching at 10.26pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to dehydration. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Hollywood Jones and Proper Bluey were quick to begin. Hollywood Jones and Jackie Baxter collided soon after the start, checking Jackie Baxter. Uncool Albert checked off Mohinga Max on the first turn. Hollywood Jones and Proper Bluey collided on the home turn. Upper Class Lad and Uncool Albert collided on the home turn. Upper Class Lad and Proper Bluey collided in the home straight, checking Proper Bluey. Proper Bluey marred Hollywood Jones in the home straight. Proper Bluey and Hollywood Jones collided approaching the winning post.
Proper Bluey was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr F.Rachele, the trainer of the greyhound Proper Bluey regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Proper Bluey with marring. Mr Rachele pleaded not guilty to the charge, Proper Bluey was found guilty and suspended the greyhound for 12 months (all tracks) and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(c), before any future nomination will be accepted.
