Steward's Report
Levenseat Bevan, Acey Boy and Cocky's Boy were slow to begin. Levenseat Bevan checked off Heartbreak Love at the 300m mark. Acey Boy, Shakey Benz and Cockys' Boy collided at the 250m mark, checking Shakey Benz. Shakey Benz and Heartbreak Love collided at the 250m mark. Cockys' Boy, Shakey Benz, Heartbreak Love and Levenseat Bevan collided at the 250m mark, checking Shakey Benz and Cockys' Boy. Cockys' Boy pulled up at the 100m mark.
Cockys' Boy was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right monkey muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to A Smit, the trainer of the greyhound Cockys' Boy regarding the greyhounds racing manners at the 100m mark. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Cockys' Boy with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. A Smit pleaded guilty to the charge, Cockys' Boy found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
