Molly Brown was slow to begin. Magic Success, Saint Oaks and Black Velcro collided soon after the start. Hashtag Danny and Saywah Tonayo collided soon after the start, checking Saywah Tonayo, which stumbled and lost ground. Irish Breeze and Magic Success collided approaching the first turn. Molly Brown and Saint Oaks collided approaching the first turn. Black Velcro, Irish Breeze, Magic Success and Hashtag Danny collided on the first turn, checking Hashtag Danny and severely checking Magic Success, Black Velcro, Irish Breeze and Saint Oaks. Saint Oaks raced wide on the home turn.
