Stewards spoke to Mr D. Craven, trainer of the greyhound Varix which had not raced since 17 January 2016. Mr Craven stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after recovering from a wrist injury and spell. Mr Craven stated that he was also waiting for a place for the greyhound in the GAP program but would continue to race the greyhound whilst it was trialling well.

Who's That Chap, Billy Bubba, Bullet Express, Wobbler and Varix collided on the first turn, checking Bullet Express, severely checking Wobbler, Billy Bubba and checking Who's That Chap which stumbled. Ben Wigan was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration to the left forearm, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. 

Onslaught was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured left hock and was humanely euthanised. 

Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr M.Jones after the greyhound Ben Wigan was placed in the incorrect kennel during the kennelling process. Mr Jones was issued with a warning and reminded when kennelling he ensures greyhounds are kennelled in accordance with kennel procedure. 

Meeting Comments:

Re-Vetted Greyhound - Jarvis Maximus was presented for a re-vet at the conclusion of kennelling and was cleared to race. 

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr P.Riley, the representative of Hashtag Selfie regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Hashtag Selfie last raced on 26 November, 2015. Mr Riley stated that was returning to racing after a metacarpal injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Hashtag Selfie trialled over the 400m from box 1, weight 27.2kg, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was 22.59, the greyhound won by a margin of 1.25 lengths. Hashtag Selfie was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results – Jesterday trialled over the 400m from box 3, weight 30.8kg, the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was 22.59, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 5.75 lengths. Jesterday was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results – Oakstar trialled over the 400m from box 8, weight 27.7kg, the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was 22.59, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 3.0 lengths. Oakstar was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results – Zipping Arnold trialled over the 460m from box 1, weight 32.3kg, the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was 25.90, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 4.75 lengths. Zipping Arnold was cleared.
