All Inn Ready was quick to begin. Elite Panther galloped on the heels of Ima Terror soon after the start, checking Heartbreak Love and Elite Panther. Proven Pops, All Inn Ready and Diamond Vee collided approaching the first turn, checking Diamond Vee. Heartbreak Love checked off Elite Panther approaching the first turn. Ima Terror and Clovalley Mauri collided on the first turn and again approaching the home turn. Heartbreak Love and My Name's Sheree collided approaching the home turn, checking My Name's Sheree. Clovalley Mauri and Ima Terror collided on the home turn. All Inn Ready and Diamond Vee collided several times in the home straight. My Name's Sheree and Elite Panther collided in the home straight. Ima Terror and Clovalley Mauri collided in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr. H. Hunter, the trainer of Elite Panther, regarding his difficulty boxing the greyhound. Mr. Hunter stated that he normally does not handle the greyhound, and will not be handling the greyhound in future. Stewards noted Mr. Hunter's comments and took no further action.
