Stewards spoke to Mr. T. Monaghan, the trainer of Benny's Promise regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Benny's Promise last raced on 22nd February 2016.  Mr. Monaghan stated that the greyhound was resuming racing after being seasonal.

Fisher, the trainer of Toothless Homer regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Toothless Homer last raced on 1st February 2016.  Mr. Fisher stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following a hip injury.  Mr. Fisher also declared a new weight of 31.0kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39 (2).  Toothless Homer last raced at 32.1kgs.

Toothless Homer was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left monkey muscle and an abraded carpal stopper.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Premier Macs and Nordul's Hope were quick to begin.  Black Edge was slow to begin.  Claretown Louie galloped on the heels of Quick Return approaching the first turn.  Claretown Louie and Crackerjack Roy collided approaching the home turn checking Crackerjack Roy.  Quick Return and Nordul's Hope collided approaching the home turn and again entering the home straight causing Quick Return to stumble.  Claretown Louie and Claretown Sam raced wide entering the home straight.

Quick Return was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left deltoid muscle.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Crackerjack Roy was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left monkey muscle.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Ms. S. Ferguson regarding her difficulty in boxing the greyhound Crackerjack Roy.  Stewards directed that Crackerjack Roy be boxed first in future events.

He's Your Mate was slow to begin.  Rowdy Richard and Smokey Whispers collided on the first turn checking Destini Baby which stumbled as a result.  Rowdy Richard and Smokey Whispers collided on the second turn checking Rowdy Richard.  Rowdy Richard failed to pursue the lure with due commitment in the home straight

Stewards spoke to Mr. W. Hartigan, the trainer of the greyhound Rowdy Richard regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight.  Rowdy Richard was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left monkey muscle.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Rowdy Richard with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Hartigan did not enter a plea to the charge.  Rowdy Richard was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
