Stewards noted that the form of King's Delight failed to reflect that the dog competed at Shepparton on 1 February 2016, an event which was declared a no race due to the premature opening of the starting boxes. Stewards therefore considered that the greyhound was eligible for this event and was not required to complete a satisfactory trial pursuant to GAR 77A. Stewards spoke to Mr J Donaldson, trainer of King's Delight, who stated that the greyhound was relatively new to his kennel and that he had been coursing with the greyhound.

Cullquin Rocky was quick to begin. Swift Jaraig, Snow Hawke and King's Delight collided soon after the start. Snow Hawke checked off Swift Jaraig approaching the first turn. Scarlett Lad and Swift Jaraig collided on the first turn checking Swift Jaraig, Snow Hawke, Kraken Zuri, Just Jatt and King's Delight collided on the first turn severely checking Kraken Zuri. Just Jatt and Swift Jaraig collided on the home turn. Cullquin Rocky and Patchie Kaye collided entering the home straight. King's Delight and Kraken Zuri collided in the home straight. Scarlett Lad cramped approaching the winning post.

Scarlett Lad was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound cramped, a 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr S Stefanos handler of the greyhound Scarlett Lad.  Acting in accordance with GAR 71 (Cramp), Stewards directed that the greyhound must perform a Satisfactory Trial before any future nomination will be accepted
