Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Ms. B. King, the trainer of Winter Time regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Winter Time last raced on 9 March 2016. Ms. King stated that the greyhound was returning from injuries to both dew claws.
A pre race sample was taken from Jet Pack Model.
Our Lilly was slow to begin. Winter Time, Jet Pack Model, Argyle Diamond and Our Lilly collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn checking Winter Time and Jet Pack Model which stumbled. Star's Delight galloped on the heels of Corgi Cry on the first turn severely checking Star's Delight. Corgi Cry, Argyle Diamond and Our Lilly collided approaching the home turn checking Argyle Diamond and Our Lilly. Argyle Diamond and Our Lilly collided on the home turn and again entering the home straight. Dodge The Cop checked off Elite Swift in the home straight. Our Lilly and Argyle Diamond in the home straight. Corgi Cry cramped in the home straight.
Corgi Cry was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound suffered cramp in the home straight. A stand down period of 3 days was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr F Meyer trainer of the greyhound Corgi Cry. Acting in accordance with GAR 71 (Cramp), Stewards directed that the greyhound must perform a Satisfactory Trial before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards spoke to Mr F Meyer regarding the direction that the greyhound Corgi Cry be boxed first. Acting under GAR 52(2) Stewards directed that this box first be removed.
Star's Delight was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the trapeze muscle. A stand down period of 7 days was imposed.
Meeting Comments:-
Satisfactory Trial Results - Bruzzy Boucheau trialled over the 450mt from box 3, weight 29.9kg, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 25.83, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 5.5 lengths. Bruzzy Boucheau was cleared.
