Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to MsTracy Salter, the trainer of Veloce, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Veloce last raced on 22 December 2015. Ms Salter stated that Veloce was returning to racing after suffering an infection.
A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Hillbilly Hell, a post-race sample was subsequently taken.
Mystic Powers and Monaleen Monty were slow to begin. Podium Express and Hydepark Flyer collided soon after the start, checking Hydepark Flyer. Rising Storm and Podium Express collided approaching the first turn, checking Podium Express. Rising Storm and Whacker Fancy collided on the first turn, severely checking Whacker Fancy and Hydepark Flyer. Monaleen Monty raced wide approaching the home turn. Hillbilly Hell checked off Rising Storm approaching the home turn. Rising Storm raced wide entering the home straight. Whacker Fancy and Hydepark Flyer collided entering the home straight, checking Whacker Fancy.
Whacker Fancy was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the right hindleg. No stand down period was imposed.
Hydepark Flyer was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Due to a malfunction with the timing mechanism, this event was hand timed with a winning time of 23:34.
