Steward's Report
Another Blue was quick to begin. Destini Seahorse and Rusty Cove were slow to begin. Rusty Cove, Manie Flash and Allen Optic collided soon after the start. Destini Seahorse, Rusty Cove and Chichi Bale collided approaching the first turn, checking Chichi Bale and Manie Flash. Allen Optic crossed to the rail approaching the first turn, checking Chichi Bale, Rusty Cove and Destini Seahorse. Manie Flash checked off Allen Optic on the first turn. Dill Bale checked off Another Blue approaching the home turn. Dill Bale eased in the home straight and collided with Another Blue, checking both greyhounds.
Dill Bale was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Mr. Camilleri declined the invitation to a re-vet.
A sample was taken from Rirtakki - the winner of the event.
Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Camilleri, the trainer of the greyhound Dill Bale regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Dill Bale with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Camilleri pleaded guilty to the charge, Dill Bale was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
