Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr S.Waycott, the trainer of Moyarra Dalriata regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Moyarra Dalriata last raced on 30 December, 2015. Mr Waycott stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after being on season.
A pre race sample was taken from Atlas Roughhead.
Bekim Prince was slow to begin. Dodge Ball, Smashing Wild and Moyarra Dalriata collided soon after the start, checking Smashing Wild. Zero Care Factor, Moyarra Dalriata, Scarlett Lad and Bryden Dora collided soon after the start. Bekim Prince and Dodge Ball collided approaching the first turn. Bryden Dora and Scarlett Lad collided approaching the first turn. Bekim Prince, Dodge Ball and Smashing Wild collided approaching the first turn, severely checking Dodge Ball which fell as a result. Zero Care Factor, Scarlett Lad and Moyarra Dalriata collided on the first turn, checking Moyarra Dalriata. Bekim Prince checked off Smashing Wild on the first turn. Scarlett Lad and Zero Care Factor collided several times approaching the home turn and again on the home turn. Smashing Wild, Moyarra Dalriata and Bekim Prince collided on the home turn, checking Moyarra Dalriata. Scarlett Lad and Zero Care Factor collided entering the home straight. Atlas Roughead raced wide in the home straight.
Dodge Ball was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left wrist, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
