Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Proven Pops upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
A pre race sample was taken from Total Magic.
Motel Girl was quick to begin. Proven Pops crossed to the rail soon after the start and collided with Surf's Magic, severely checking Proven Pops, severely checking Total Magic which contacted the running rail and tailed off as a result. Billiluna, Surf's Magic, Bryden Lady and Ring London collided approaching the first turn, checking Ring London and Billiluna. Billiluna and Ring London collided on the first turn, checking Billiluna. Ring London raced wide entering the home straight and again in the home straight. Billiluna and Surf's Magic collided in the home straight.
Total Magic was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left hamstring, a 10 day stand down was imposed.
Stewards spoke to T Salpigtidis regarding the direction that the greyhound Surf's Magic be boxed first. Acting under GAR 52(2) Stewards directed that this box first be removed.
Stewards spoke to G Walker, trainer and handler of Ring London, and reminded him of his responsibilities after he attempted to load his greyhound into the incorrect box.
