A pre-race sample was taken from Moto Warrior upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
A pre race sample was taken from Gunmetal Lad.
Selynya Kev was quick to begin. Hardy Chief and Lee I Am were slow to begin. Slipaway Simba checked off Gunmetal Lad soon after the start. Lee I Am checked off Dundas Boy soon after the start. Logic Lad checked off Selynya Kev approaching the first turn. Moto Warrior and Selynya Kev collided approaching the first turn checking Selynya Kev. Slipaway Simba and Selynya Kev collided on the first turn checking Slipaway Simba, Selynya Kev and Logic Lad. Moto Warrior and Dundas Boy raced wide entering the home straight. Lee I Am checked off Hardy Chief in the home straight checking Slipaway Simba.
A sample was taken from Dundas Boy, the second placegetter in this event.
Stewards spoke to Mr D. Craven, handler of Moto Warrior in regards to his difficulty in boxing the dog for this event. Mr Craven informed Stewards that his greyhound’s toe had become wedged in the pop-rivet hole on the boxes whilst he was trying to load the greyhound. Stewards accepted Mr Craven's explanation.
