Steward's Report
A pre race sample was taken from Slipaway Anna.
A pre race sample was taken from Maximum Melva.
Gold Compass crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Slipaway Robbie, Slipaway Anna, Demtel and Maximum Melva. Cowboy Jury and Argyle Diamond collided approaching the first turn checking Argyle Diamond, Slipaway Robbie and Slipaway Anna. Slipaway Robbie checked off Maximum Melva on the first turn. Argyle Diamond and Maximum Melva collided entering the home straight and again in the home straight. Slipaway Anna crossed to the outside entering the home straight checking Argyle Diamond.
Slipaway Anna was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left monkey muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards issued a warning to Mr. K. Quinn, the trainer of the greyhound Slipaway Anna regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn.
A sample was taken from Gold Compass, the winner of the event.

Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Tabb, the trainer of True Optimist regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. True Optimist last raced on 10th December, 2015. Mr. Tabb stated that True Optimist was returning to race after a change of kennel. Pursuant to GAR 77A, True Optimist trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 1, weight 33.3kgs. The greyhound was placed 3rd, in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.19. The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 7 lengths. True Optimist was cleared.
Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Tabb, the trainer of Katy Shan regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Katy Shan last raced on 9th December, 2015. Mr. Tabb stated that Katy Shan was returning to race after a change of kennel. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Katy Shan trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 3, weight 26.5kgs. The greyhound was placed 4th, in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.19. The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 11.5 lenghts. Katy Shan was cleared.

The greyhound was placed 1st, in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.19. The greyhound won by a margin of 5.5 lengths. Belena Prince was cleared.
