Steward's Report

Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Scott, the handler of Beljay Belle regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Beljay Belle last raced on 10th March, 2016 and has been on season during this time. 

Dessie Walnut, Beljay Belle and Uncontrollable collided soon after the start checking Beljay Belle.  Uncontrollable galloped on the heels of Stumble on the first turn.  Try Me and Boofa Jack collided on the first turn checking Boofa Jack.  Boofa Jack galloped on the heels of Uncontrollable approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.

Slog Sweep was presented for a re-vet at the conclusion of kennelling and was cleared to race.

Satisfactory Trial Results

Brandeen Roma trialled over the 400 metre distance from box 1, weight 27.5kgs.  The greyhound was placed 3rd, in a field of 5.  The time of the trial was 23.46.  The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 0.75 lengths.  Brandeen Roma was not cleared.

Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Ferguson, the trainer of Fastest Leap regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Fastest Leap last raced on 25th July 2015.  Mr. Ferguson stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after being spelled.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Fastest Leap trialled over the 400 metre distance from box 2, weight 30.4kgs.  The greyhound was placed 5th, in a field of 5.  The time of the trial was 23.46.  The greyhound was beaten by margin of 2.75 lengths.  Fastest Leap was cleared.

Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Cowling, the trainer of Fruition regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Fruition last raced on 22nd March 2015.  Mr. Cowling stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after injuries to both its monkey muscles and removal of a toe.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Fruition trialled over the 400 metre distance from box 3, weight 31.6kgs.  The greyhound was placed 4th, in a field of 5.  The time of the trial was 23.46.  The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 1.0 lengths.  Fruition was cleared.
