My Sirion was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to its right front leg.  A 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. L. Nagy, the catcher of the greyhound My Sirion and reminded him of his responsibilities in ensuring that he arrives to the catching pen in a timely manner for his catching engagements.  Stewards also reminded Mr. Nagy of his responsibilities with regards to the dress code.

Mitch's Delight was a late scratching at 7:56am due to illness.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Special Member and Lunar Magic were slow to begin.  Boston Jet went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin.  Arvo's Nico and Taabinga Swift collided approaching the first turn checking Arvo's Nico.  Taabinga Lady and Taabinga Swift collided on the first turn checking Taabinga Lady.  Taabinga Swift and White With One collided several times in the home straight.  Boston Jet, Taabinga Swift and White With One collided approaching the winning post.

Daintree Rhumba and Iron Anda were slow to begin.  Meggs Rawson and Ima Ebay collided soon after the start checking Meggs Rawson.  Jake and Daintree Rhumba collided soon after the start.  Night Prancer checked off Black Train on the first turn severely checking Ima Ebay, Iron Anda and Daintree Rhumba; Iron Anda stumbled as a result.  Meggs Rawson and Jake collided on the first turn checking Jake.  Daintree Rhumba and Iron Anda collided approaching the home turn.  Black Train tired approaching the winning post.

Diamond Maxine was quick to begin.  Ayden Jackson was slow to begin.  Maxmum Strike and Pacific Impulse collided soon after the start.  Avon Stone checked off Arvo's Violet soon after the start checking Ayden Jackson.  Avon Stone crossed to the outside approaching the first turn and raced wide checking Ayden Jackson as a result.  Maximum Strike faltered on the first turn and checked off Avon Stone; Maximum Strike subsequently tailed off.  

Maximum Strike was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its left sesamoid and right triangle.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Dee Mum's Girl was quick to begin.  Barroom Express was slow to begin.  No Road crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Arctic Blaze and severely checking Galaxy Star.  Arctic Blaze and Yorgi Road collided on the first turn checking Yorgi Road.  Sonny's Honey crossed to the rail on the first turn severely checking Arctic Blaze and causing Yorgi Road to race wide; Sonny's Honey galloped on the heels of Dee Mum's Girl as a result.  Barroom Express and Dee Mum's Girl collided approaching the home turn.  Arctic Blaze and Yorgi Road collided approaching the home turn.

The Club's Veterinary Surgeon examined Rusty's Cape and no illness was detected.  The greyhound was a late scratching at 11:13am due to weight variation. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer, Mr. S. Lithgow was fined the sum of $100.

What's The Goss was slow to begin.  Adara Lad and Calabrese Coco collided soon after the start checking Adara Lad.  Perry White crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Dr. Carlos and Barroom Brawler; Barroom Brawler faltered and lost considerable ground as a result.  Lisburn Star and Mugs Away collided on the first turn.

Barroom Brawler was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right triangle.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Gypsy Wendy was slow to begin.  Dr. Logan and Anoteros collided soon after the start checking Anoteros.  Gypsy Wendy crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Roadrunner Thief, Cosmic Conqueror, Dr. Logan and In Dee Gang and severely checking Jada's Joy and Doogie Boy.  Dr. Logan and In Dee Gang collided approaching the home turn checking In Dee Gang and causing Jada's Joy to gallop on the heels of Doogie Boy: Doogie Boy fell and Jada's Joy was severely checked and subsequently tailed off as a result.

Jada's Joy was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions near its left eye.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Doogie Boy was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to its right front wrist.  A 3 day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Roadrunner Thief, the winner of the event.

Mr. P. Colthup, the trainer of Key Lago Prince declared a new weight of 31.8kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Key Lago Prince last raced at 32.9kgs.

Ginger Pieces was quick to begin.  Key Largo Prince and Buckle Up Omnin collided approaching the first turn.  Busta Voe and Implosion Liam collided on the first turn.  Key Largo Prince checked off Buckle Up Omnin approaching the home turn.  Implosion Liam checked off Busta Voe on the home turn.  Key Largo Prince checked off Implosion Liam on the home turn.

Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Scott, the handler of Beljay Belle regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Beljay Belle last raced on 10th March, 2016 and has been on season during this time. 

Dessie Walnut, Beljay Belle and Uncontrollable collided soon after the start checking Beljay Belle.  Uncontrollable galloped on the heels of Stumble on the first turn.  Try Me and Boofa Jack collided on the first turn checking Boofa Jack.  Boofa Jack galloped on the heels of Uncontrollable approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.

Satisfactory Trial Results

Brandeen Roma trialled over the 400 metre distance from box 1, weight 27.5kgs.  The greyhound was placed 3rd, in a field of 5.  The time of the trial was 23.46.  The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 0.75 lengths.  Brandeen Roma was not cleared.

Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Ferguson, the trainer of Fastest Leap regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Fastest Leap last raced on 25th July 2015.  Mr. Ferguson stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after being spelled.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Fastest Leap trialled over the 400 metre distance from box 2, weight 30.4kgs.  The greyhound was placed 5th, in a field of 5.  The time of the trial was 23.46.  The greyhound was beaten by margin of 2.75 lengths.  Fastest Leap was cleared.

Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Cowling, the trainer of Fruition regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Fruition last raced on 22nd March 2015.  Mr. Cowling stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after injuries to both its monkey muscles and removal of a toe.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Fruition trialled over the 400 metre distance from box 3, weight 31.6kgs.  The greyhound was placed 4th, in a field of 5.  The time of the trial was 23.46.  The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 1.0 lengths.  Fruition was cleared.
