Avatar Yappa and Raven On were slow to begin and collided soon after the start checking Avatar Yappa. Windsor Prize crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Morta Bella and Cathay Princess. Cee Ya Mate and Hotlips Matilda collided approaching the second turn checking Hotlips Matilda. Avatar Yappa checked off Cathay Princess approaching the second turn and lost considerable ground. Cee Ya Mate and Morta Bella collided on the home turn checking Cee Ya Mate. Cathay Princess, My Names Bluey and Hotlips Matilda collided on the home turn checking Hotlips Matilda. Raven On and Windsor Prize collided on the home turn and again entering the home straight.
Avatar Yappa was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right wrist sprain and right deltoid muscle injury. A stand down period of 10 days was imposed.
