Steward's Report
Moon And Back and Tender Fusileer were quick to begin. Benny's Reality was slow to begin.
Benny's Reality and Melee Bale collided soon after the start. Kiria Lason eased approaching the first turn and lost ground as a result. Moon And Back and Tender Fusileer collided on the first turn checking Allen Casper. Benny's Reality and Melee Bale collided on the first turn causing both greyhounds to race wide. Kiria Lason and Addictive Alpha collided on the second turn and again in the back straight. Moon And Back checked off Addictive Alpha on the third turn. Melee Bale galloped on Tender Fusileer on the home turn. Tender Fusileer checked off Melee Bale in the home straight.
Tender Fusileer was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained right hind minor grazes, no stand down period was imposed.
Kiria Lason was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. (Trainer Mr. L. Karabitsakos declined to have the greyhound re-vetted)
Stewards spoke to Mr. L. Karabitsakos, the trainer of the greyhound Kiria Lason regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the first turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Kiria Lason with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. L Karabitsakos pleaded guilty to the charge, Kiria Lason was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial, pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
