Steward's Report

Pursuant to GAR 104(6), Judge, Ms. S. Bonaccurso did not act in any official capacity for this event.

Kilty Man and Sherry Baby were slow to begin.  Sherry Baby and Doovalacky collided soon after the start checking Sherry Baby.  El Huracan, Hardy's Me Mum and Miss Nicastro collided approaching the first turn checking El Huracan.  Kilty Man, Four See and Hardy's Me Mum collided approaching the first turn checking Four See.  Kilty Man and Hardy's Me Mum collided approaching the home turn checking Kilty Man.  Miss Nicastro faltered approaching the home turn and pulled up.  Four See raced wide on the home turn.  Hardy's Me Mum checked off Bekim Nikita in the home straight.

Four See was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right thigh.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Miss Nicastro was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Bonaccurso, the trainer of the greyhound Miss Nicastro regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1), stewards charged Miss Nicastro with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr. Bonaccurso pleaded guilty to the charge.  Miss Nicastro was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR (A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
