Steward's Report
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed ‘Heat Affected’. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 30.7 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18.9 degrees. Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue, as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.
During kennelling, Stewards conducted a carpark check on the vehicles of all trainers engaged in today’s meeting. Stewards were satisfied that all transport had adhered to the GRV Hot Weather Policy and the GRV Transportation of Greyhounds Policy.
Pumping Magic was slow to begin.
Jayden (turned it's head out on the home turn), underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion on the right achillies tendon. No stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms. Kerry Minnie regarding Jayden’s racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Jayden was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms Minnie pleaded not guilty to the charge. Jayden was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race urine sample was taken from Paw Torrie - placed 2nd in the event.
